Product Overview

The SAMSON Type 3710 Pneumatic Reversing Amplifier is designed to enable double-acting pneumatic actuators to operate using a single-acting pneumatic or electropneumatic valve positioner. Manufactured by SAMSON, this pneumatic control accessory generates an opposing output pressure signal, allowing compressed air to be supplied to both actuator chambers for controlled valve opening and closing. Its mechanical pneumatic operation supports reliable actuator movement, accurate valve positioning, and consistent performance in industrial process control systems.

The SAMSON 3710 operates by using the positioner's output signal pressure (Y1) and instrument supply pressure (Z) to generate a second output pressure (Y2). The two actuator pressures maintain the relationship Y1 + Y2 = Z, allowing coordinated movement of compatible double-acting actuators. The standard version supports a maximum supply pressure of 6 bar, IP65 protection, and operating temperatures from −25°C to +80°C. Designed for use with compatible SAMSON Type 3725, 3730, 3731 and other selected positioners, the amplifier is suitable for valve automation in chemical processing, oil and gas, power generation, water treatment, and industrial manufacturing facilities.

// FAQs

Questions about this part?

Our engineers can confirm fit before you order. Contact support.

How do I find the right part for my system?

Three options. Search by part number if you have the OEM code from Parker, Danfoss, Linde, Kawasaki, Kayaba or Grundfos — our search recognises both manufacturer codes and aftermarket cross-references. Browse by category if you know the component type (pumps, valves, cylinders, etc.). Or send a spec sheet to our engineering desk and we'll cross-reference against our 3,000+ SKU catalogue within one business day.

Can you help me size a pump or valve for my application?

Yes — sizing support is included with every order. Send us your operating pressure, flow rate, viscosity, drive speed and duty cycle, and our engineers will recommend a suitable component from our catalogue with full datasheets. We don't custom-build parts ourselves, but we can spec the right OEM component for almost any standard industrial application.

Can you cross-reference a discontinued part?

Yes — cross-referencing is one of the things we do most. Send us the original part number (even if the manufacturer has dropped it) and our engineering desk will identify a current equivalent or compatible alternative. Cross-reference lookups are free and typically come back within 4 business hours.
