Danfoss Pump Types We Match
Closed Circuit Piston Pumps
Danfoss closed-circuit axial piston pumps, including well-known series such as Series 90, power hydrostatic drives on harvesters, rollers, loaders and other propel systems. They work as a pair with a hydraulic motor and include a charge pump to keep the loop full.
Open Circuit Piston Pumps
Danfoss open circuit piston pumps supply working hydraulics such as lifting, steering and attachments, often with load sensing or pressure controls that match flow to demand.
Gear Pumps
Danfoss gear pumps are compact and robust, used for steering, cooling fans, auxiliary circuits and smaller machines. Single and multiple section versions are common.
Reading a Danfoss Pump Code
Danfoss pumps usually carry a model code plus a separate code number. The model code describes the series, displacement, control, rotation and options, while the code number identifies the exact build. On closed circuit pumps, the control type and charge pump size matter as much as displacement. Send both numbers, plus photos of the label and shaft, and we’ll decode them.
Closed Loop Failures and Flushing
When a closed circuit pump fails, metal particles circulate through the loop and into the motor. Fitting a new pump without flushing the lines, changing filters and checking the motor often leads to a second failure. A proper repair includes cleaning the loop, replacing filters and confirming charge pressure and case drain flow before the machine goes back to work.
Repair, Rebuild or Replace
Many Danfoss piston pumps can be rebuilt with rotating group parts, bearings and seal kits, especially when the failure is caught early. Gear pumps are usually replaced, as they’re simpler and cheaper to swap. If the pump has been superseded, we’ll show you the current version and any changes to controls or connections.
Genuine, Superseded or Equivalent
Where a genuine Danfoss pump is available, we’ll quote it. Equivalent gear pumps and some piston pumps are available from other makers, matched on flange, shaft, displacement and control. We’ll tell you which you’re getting and how it compares.
Related Brands and Components
Danfoss hydraulic pumps sit alongside other OEM pumps in our range. Industrial piston and vane pumps are covered under Parker hydraulic pumps, compact machine pumps under Kayaba, and excavator pumps under Kawasaki. The motors and valves that work with these pumps are covered under hydraulic motors and directional control valves.
What We Need From You
- The Danfoss model code and code number from the label.
- Photos of the label, shaft, flange and control.
- The machine make, model and serial number.
- Any symptoms, such as loss of drive, overheating or noise.
Why Work With TSA Hydraulics Engineering
As a supplier of Danfoss hydraulic pumps and equivalents, we’ll tell you plainly what’s genuine and what isn’t. You get rebuild options where they make sense, and engineers who understand closed-loop drives and the checks needed after a failure.
