What Goes on a Skid-Mounted System
- Hydraulic power units: motor, pump, tank, valves and filters for machines and test rigs.
- Pump sets: transfer, dewatering or circulation pumps with their own driver.
- Filtration units: offline filters that clean hydraulic and lube oil while machines run.
- Vacuum pump sets: pumps, receivers and controls for process and handling duties.
- Cooling units: pumps and oil coolers for hot hydraulic circuits.
If you want controls and instruments fully wired and tested as one unit, see packaged systems & skids.
Built to Be Moved
- Forklift pockets on the base, sized for the full weight.
- Lifting lugs or a lifting frame with a rated load.
- Tie down points for road transport.
- Flexible hoses at site connections, so the frame can settle.
- Bracing on pipework and panels to handle vibration in transit.
- A drip tray under oil filled equipment.
Fixed or Relocatable?
A fixed skid gets bolted and grouted once, then stays. It can use rigid pipework and heavier frames.
A relocatable skid moves between sites, shutdowns or hire jobs. It needs quick connect couplings, protected instruments and a frame that stays square after many lifts. Tell us which one you need before we design it.
Where Skid Mounted Systems Work
- Mining shutdowns and temporary process plant.
- Construction dewatering and bypass pumping.
- Hydraulic test benches and workshops.
- Oil flushing and filtration during commissioning.
- Hire fleets that need tough, repeatable units.
For critical supply, two pumps can share one frame, as on our duty / standby skids. Unusual equipment or tight layouts go through custom skids.
Moving a Skid Safely
- Drain or secure fluids before the lift.
- Cap all open ports and protect instruments.
- Lift only from the marked points.
- Strap the skid down at the tie down points.
- Check alignment, fittings and fluid levels before restarting on the new site.
Looking After a Mobile Skid
- Inspect the frame and welds for cracks after each move.
- Check hoses for chafing at clamps and edges.
- Change filters and test the oil more often on dusty sites.
- Recheck pump and motor alignment after transport.
Skid Mounted Systems Specifications to Check
- Equipment on board and its duty
- Frame size, weight and lifting arrangement
- Power supply, or diesel or petrol drive
- Connection types: fixed or quick connect
- Protection rating for outdoor use
- Transport limits: width, height and weight
Why Buy From TSA Hydraulics Engineering
As a skid-mounted systems supplier, we design the frame, lifting and pipework for how the skid will really be used, then build with trusted fabrication partners. You get clear prices in AUD, OEM or equivalent components, and help sourcing skid-mounted systems replacement parts such as pumps, filters, hoses and seal kits. We tell you upfront which parts are genuine and which are equivalents.
