Our Skid System Range
Pump Skid Systems
General-purpose pump skids for transfer, supply and circulation duties. Pumps, motors, pipework and valves come mounted and connected on one base frame.
Process Pump Skids
Skids built for process plants: chemical dosing, product transfer and cleaning systems, with the materials, seals and instruments to suit the fluid.
Fire Pump Skids
Packaged fire pump sets with electric or diesel drivers, controllers and the pipework needed for building and site fire protection. They’re specified to suit the fire standards your project must meet.
Duty and Standby Skids
Two or more pumps on one frame, with one running and another ready to take over automatically. For supplies the plant can’t live without.
Custom Skids (RFQ)
Skids built to your drawings, space and duty. Tell us the problem, and we’ll engineer the package and quote it.
Packaged Systems and Skids
Complete, tested systems with pumps, controls and instruments, ready to connect to power and pipework on arrival.
Skid Mounted Systems
Hydraulic power units, filtration units, vacuum packages and other equipment built onto a skid for easy installation and relocation.
What’s on a Typical Skid
- Pumps and motors, with electric, petrol or diesel drivers.
- A structural base frame with lifting points.
- Suction and discharge pipework.
- Isolation, check and control valves.
- Pressure, flow and level instruments.
- Strainers and filters.
- A control panel and variable speed drives where needed.
Why Choose a Skid?
- Faster installation: the skid arrives pre-assembled, cutting site work and shutdowns.
- Fewer mistakes: piping and wiring are done under workshop conditions.
- Less engineering on your side: one integrated package, one point of contact.
- Smaller footprint: equipment is arranged to fit tight plant rooms.
- Easier relocation: a skid can be lifted and moved as the plant changes.
Design Points We Check
- Pump duty, operating range and NPSH.
- Pipe sizes and pressure losses across the skid.
- Valve and instrument selection.
- Structural design, lifting points and vibration.
- Access for maintenance, so filters and seals can be reached.
- Electrical, hazardous area and fire standards on your site.
Where Skids Work
- Water and wastewater: booster stations, dosing and transfer.
- Mining and minerals processing: process water, slurry and dewatering.
- Chemical and process plants: dosing, transfer and cleaning in place.
- Buildings: fire protection and pressure boosting.
- Industrial utilities: cooling water, lubrication and hydraulic supply.
How a Skid Project Runs
- Review the duty, site and standards.
- Select the pumps, valves and instruments, and lay out the skid.
- Approve the general arrangement drawing.
- Build with our fabrication partners, then test where possible.
- Deliver, install and commission.
Skid or Loose Equipment?
A skid makes most sense when site time is expensive, space is tight, the same package is needed more than once, or the plant may move. Loose equipment can still suit a simple single pump job with plenty of room and an experienced installer. For hydraulic power on a machine rather than fluid transfer, our power units are usually the better fit.
Looking After a Skid
- Check strainers and filters on a fixed schedule.
- Exercise standby pumps so they’re ready when needed.
- Keep instrument calibration and settings records up to date.
- Review performance as the plant’s duties change.
- Our lifecycle services can take on these reviews for you.
Skid Systems Specifications to Check
- Flow, head or pressure, and fluid
- Number of pumps, duty and standby
- Driver type and power supply
- Frame size, weight and lifting points
- Instruments, controls and communications
- Materials, coatings and site standards
Why Buy From TSA Hydraulics Engineering
As a skid systems supplier, we engineer the whole package around your duty, then build it with trusted fabrication partners. You get clear prices in AUD, OEM or equivalent components, and help sourcing skid systems replacement parts such as pumps, seals, valves and instruments for the life of the skid. We tell you upfront which parts are genuine and which are equivalents.
