Mobile Fleet Hydraulics
Excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks and drill rigs all depend on high pressure hydraulics. Main pumps are usually variable displacement piston pumps, with gear pumps for pilot, fan and steering circuits. Travel and swing drives use hydraulic motors, and the whole system relies on clean oil and sound hoses. We match replacement pumps and motors by part number, displacement, control type and mounting, so a fleet machine gets back to work quickly.
Dewatering Pump Systems
Every pit and underground working has to manage water, and the pumps rarely get attention until something goes wrong. Good dewatering design starts with the inflow rate, the total head from sump to discharge, and the solids in the water. From there, the choice is usually centrifugal or multistage pumps for clean water at height, or slurry and positive displacement pumps where solids are heavy.
For critical dewatering, consider:
- A duty and standby arrangement, so one pump failure doesn’t flood the pit.
- Diesel driven pumps where power is unreliable.
- Skid mounted sets that can move as the pit grows.
- Variable speed drives to match pumping to changing inflow.
Fixed Plant and Workshop Hydraulics
Beyond the fleet, mines run conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, crushers and workshop equipment with their own hydraulic power. Many of these use power units with gear or vane pumps, plus cylinders for take ups, gates and clamps. Workshops need test benches, hydraulic presses and reliable spares to turn components around fast.
Why Mining Hydraulics Fail Early
Dust is the biggest enemy. It gets in through damaged breathers, cracked hoses, worn rod seals and dirty top up oil, and it grinds pumps and valves from the inside. Heat comes next: Australian sites can push oil temperatures high enough to shorten seal and oil life. Shock loads from digging, rock breaking and travel finish the job. Good filtration, sealed fill points, adequate cooling and sensible pressure settings cut most of these failures.
Keeping Critical Equipment Running
Remote sites can’t wait a week for a part. A critical spares list, built around the pumps, motors and hoses most likely to stop production, keeps machines running between planned shutdowns. Pair that with regular oil analysis and condition checks, and many failures can be planned rather than suffered.
For larger problems, our engineered solutions team reviews whole systems, from dewatering networks to fixed plant power units. Processing circuits are covered under mining & minerals processing, press and forming duties sit under steel & metal forming, and transfer and injection duties under oil & gas.
What We Need From You
- Machine make, model and serial number, or the pump part number.
- Nameplate photos of the failed component.
- For dewatering: flow, total head, solids and power supply.
- Site conditions and how critical the equipment is.
