Kayaba Components We Match
Kayaba hydraulics are especially common on compact and mid size machines. The parts we match most often include:
- Gear pumps: single- and multiple-section pumps for working hydraulics and steering.
- Piston pumps: variable pumps for mini and midi excavators.
- Travel motors: for compact excavators and tracked machines.
- Control valves: sectional and mono block valves for working functions.
- Cylinders and seal kits: for repairs and rebuilds.
Kayaba pumps on their own are covered in more depth on our Kayaba hydraulic pumps page.
Matching a Kayaba Part
KYB part numbers describe the series, displacement and options, while machine builders often add their own numbers on top. The best match comes from the KYB number on the part itself, plus photos of the shaft, flange and ports. For multiple section gear pumps, note the displacement of each section and which way the shaft turns, viewed from the shaft end. If the shaft is splined, count the teeth.
Compact Machines, Big Downtime
On a small machine, one failed pump or motor stops the whole job. Mini excavators and forklifts are often booked back to back, so a quick, accurate match matters as much as price. Equivalent gear pumps and travel motors are common for popular KYB models, and can be a practical option when the genuine part has a long lead time. Keeping a spare gear pump for your busiest machines can cost less than a lost week of hire.
Genuine, Superseded or Equivalent
Where a genuine Kayaba part is available, we’ll quote it. Older numbers may be superseded, and we’ll show you the current part and any differences. Where an equivalent suits better, we’ll say so plainly and explain how it compares on dimensions, ratings and fit.
Keeping KYB Hydraulics Running
Compact machines often run with small oil tanks, so oil heats up and gets dirty faster. Change filters and oil on schedule, keep breathers clean and check hoses for rubbing. Travel motors need the right gear oil in their final drives. A noisy gear pump usually means suction trouble or worn gears, and catching it early protects the rest of the system.
Related Hydraulic OEMs
Kayaba sits alongside other hydraulic OEMs in our range. Larger excavator pumps, regulators, and motors are covered under Kawasaki; mobile steering, orbital motors and valves under Danfoss; and dedicated Parker pumps under Parker hydraulic pumps.
What We Need From You
- The KYB part number from the nameplate or casting.
- Photos of the part, shaft, flange and ports.
- The machine make, model and serial number.
- Any symptoms, such as noise, slow functions or leaks.
