Process Sectors We Support
Water & Wastewater
Water supply and sewage treatment run around the clock. Councils and utilities need lift station pumps, booster sets, chemical dosing for treatment, and sludge pumps that cope with rags and solids. Duty and standby arrangements keep supply and treatment going through a failure.
Chemical Processing
Chemical plants handle corrosive, toxic and sometimes flammable fluids. They rely on metering pumps for dosing, transfer pumps in compatible materials, sealless or well-sealed designs to stop leaks, and process pump skids with bunding and containment built in.
Food & Beverage
Food and beverage plants need hygienic pumps that protect the product and survive daily cleaning. Lobe and progressive cavity pumps move thick and delicate products gently, while centrifugal pumps handle thin liquids and clean-in-place (CIP) supply. Stainless steel and food safe seals are standard.
Pharma & Biotech
Pharmaceutical and biotech processes demand clean, accurate and well-documented equipment. Peristaltic and diaphragm pumps suit sterile and shear-sensitive fluids, purified water systems need sanitary pumps, and every part needs traceable materials and paperwork.
Paper & Pulp
Paper mills pump thick stock, chemicals and huge volumes of water. They also run hydraulics on presses, rolls and winders. Pumps need to handle fibre without clogging, and hydraulic systems need reliable pumps, valves and cooling in a warm, wet environment.
Water & Process Plants
Industrial plants run their own water systems: boiler feed, cooling towers, reverse osmosis, process water and effluent treatment. These utility duties need reliable centrifugal and multistage pumps, dosing for water treatment, and redundancy where a failure would stop production.
Why the Fluid Comes First
In a process plant, the fluid decides almost everything. Corrosive chemicals need compatible metals or plastics. Abrasive slurries need slow-running, wear resistant pumps. Thick products need positive displacement pumps rather than centrifugal ones. Shear-sensitive products, like some foods and biologics, need gentle pumping. Temperature, solids and viscosity all change the right choice, so we always start with what’s in the pipe.
Matching Pump Types to Process Duties
- Centrifugal pumps: thin liquids, water and CIP supply at steady flow.
- Multistage pumps: higher pressure water, boiler feed and RO feed.
- Diaphragm and peristaltic pumps: accurate dosing, chemicals and sterile duties.
- Lobe pumps: hygienic transfer of food and delicate products.
- Progressive cavity pumps: thick, abrasive or shear sensitive fluids.
Materials and Seals
Wetted materials and seals often matter more than the pump model. 316 stainless steel suits most food and many chemical duties. PVC, PVDF and polypropylene suit aggressive acids and hypochlorite. Seal elastomers such as EPDM, FKM and PTFE are chosen for the chemical, temperature and cleaning regime. A pump with the right curve but the wrong seal can leak within weeks.
Packaged Process Systems
Many process duties are easier to install and maintain as packaged systems. Dosing skids, CIP supply sets, booster sets and transfer skids arrive pre-piped and tested, with bunding, instruments and controls built in. Our engineers design them and trusted fabrication partners build them, so installation during a shutdown is quicker and cleaner.
Keeping Process Plants Running
Process plants usually run continuously, so a pump failure stops a batch, a treatment step or a whole line. Duty and standby pumps, critical spares and regular performance reviews keep surprises to a minimum. Our lifecycle services help plan maintenance around production rather than breakdowns.
Related Industry Groups
Process plants often sit alongside other industries. Mining processing plants are covered under heavy industry, factory hydraulics under manufacturing, and building water, fire and HVAC systems under building & civil.
