Our Engineered Solutions Services
Pump Selection & Sizing
The right pump starts with the right numbers. We work out the duty point, total head, NPSH available and fluid properties, then match a pump that runs close to its best efficiency point. You get a short selection report you can check, not just a part number.
System Design & Modelling
We model the whole system: pipe sizes, fittings, valves and elevation changes. That gives a system curve to compare with the pump curve. It also shows where friction losses, control valve drops or a tight NPSH margin will cause trouble.
Energy Efficiency & Servo Retrofits
Many pumps run oversized or throttled for years. We measure where yours operates, then look at variable speed drives, high efficiency motors, impeller trimming or a servo retrofit. The report shows energy use, savings and simple payback. Pumps often take a big share of a plant’s power bill, so small gains add up.
Redundant Pump Systems (Duty / Standby)
For supplies the plant can’t lose, we design duty and standby arrangements with automatic changeover, alarms and pump rotation, so a single failure never stops production. Each pump is sized for the full duty, so either one can carry the plant alone.
Vacuum Systems (Packaged)
We engineer complete vacuum packages, matching the pump type, receiver size and controls to the process, from handling and holding to drying and degassing. Liquid ring, rotary vane, dry screw and claw pumps are all options, depending on the gas, moisture and vacuum level.
Custom Engineered Systems
When nothing standard fits, we design a system from your brief: pumps, hydraulics, controls and frame. Trusted fabrication partners build it, and we support it through commissioning. Typical jobs include combined pump and filtration skids, test rigs and replacement systems for obsolete plant.
When to Bring In an Engineer
- A pump keeps failing, cavitating or tripping.
- Energy bills are climbing, or the pump runs throttled most of the day.
- The plant is expanding and the old system can’t keep up.
- You’re replacing old equipment and the original data is missing.
- A failure would stop production, so redundancy matters.
- You’re planning a new line and want it right the first time.
How an Engineering Project Runs
- Brief: you tell us the problem, the duty and the site.
- Data: we gather drawings, pump data, operating records and site photos.
- Analysis: our engineers check the duty, the system curve and the options.
- Recommendation: you receive a clear report with costs and trade offs.
- Supply: we source the pumps, drives and parts, or complete skid systems and power units, genuine or equivalent.
- Start up: we support installation and commissioning, then check performance.
What You Receive
- A pump selection report showing the duty point and the chosen pump’s curve.
- An engineering report with the system curve, losses and NPSH margin.
- An energy report with current use, likely savings and payback.
- General arrangement drawings and a parts list for any new system.
- Clear notes on which parts are genuine and which are equivalents.
Where Our Engineering Helps Most
- Mining and heavy industry: dewatering, slurry and process water duties under tough conditions.
- Water and wastewater: booster stations, transfer and dosing.
- Manufacturing: hydraulic power, cooling water and machine circuits.
- Power generation: cooling, lubrication and fuel supply systems.
- Food and beverage: hygienic transfer and cleaning systems.
What Makes a Good Engineering Brief
The more we know, the faster and sharper the answer. The most useful details are:
- Flow, pressure or head, and the fluid.
- Pipe sizes, lengths and changes in level.
- Existing pump nameplates and motor ratings.
- Running hours and energy cost, for efficiency work.
- Photos of the installation and any P&IDs.
Why Work With TSA Hydraulics Engineering
Our engineered solutions services join engineering support and supply in one place. The engineers who size your pump also source it, so the recommendation and the part always match. You get clear technical consultation, prices in AUD and an honest view on genuine versus equivalent parts. For a quotation, send your brief and we’ll tell you what we need next.
