The SAMSON Type 3730-3 Intelligent Digital Valve Positioner is designed for precise positioning and automated control of pneumatic valve actuators in industrial process systems. Manufactured by SAMSON, this microprocessor-controlled electropneumatic positioner uses a standard 4–20 mA electrical input signal with HART digital communication to regulate pneumatic output pressure and maintain accurate valve positioning. Its advanced control technology continuously compares the required valve position with actual valve travel, supporting responsive actuator movement, stable process regulation, and dependable industrial operation.
Part of the SAMSON Type 3730 Series, the 3730-3 features automatic initialization, integrated EXPERTplus valve diagnostics, an LCD display, and a rotary pushbutton for local configuration. It supports direct attachment to compatible SAMSON Type 3277 actuators, NAMUR mounting on linear actuators, and VDI/VDE 3845 mounting on rotary actuators. With adjustable flow characteristics, pneumatic output control, and HART communication for remote configuration and diagnostics, the positioner is suitable for oil and gas processing, chemical manufacturing, power generation, water treatment, and industrial valve automation applications.
