Servo and Proportional Valves for Precise Control for Hydraulics and Air

Servo and proportional valves turn an electrical signal into smooth, variable control of flow or pressure, so machines can ramp, position and follow a profile. TSA Hydraulics Engineering supplies them as one of the four main families in our Valves range.

With these valves, the valve is only half the job. The amplifier, the command signal and any feedback must all match: a valve expecting plus or minus 10 volts will not behave on a 4 to 20 mA signal. Send the valve code and tell us how it is driven. We will match a genuine valve or an equivalent with compatible electronics.

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Talk to an engineer.

1. What is the difference between servo and proportional valves?

Servo valves are faster and more precise, and usually run in a closed loop. Proportional valves are simpler and cost less.

2. Can I replace an old valve that used an amplifier card?

Often, yes. A valve with onboard electronics may replace it, but the signal and wiring must be checked first.

3. Can you supply the servo and proportional valves datasheet?

Yes. We send the datasheet with your quote, so you can check the servo and proportional valves specifications first.

4. What affects the servo and proportional valves price?

Valve type, size, electronics, response time and brand all affect the price.
